Pollina, in the province of Palermo and at the back of Cefalù, appear on the rocky spur at 730m above sea level between mountains Nebrodi and Madonie, in the extraordinary panoramic position. Pollina is one of the most picturesque villages of Madonie Park, thanks to its panoramic position and particular urban plot with small houses which bundle up and bunch against each other as if they were searching a protection from immense space which extends between sky, sea, and earth all around. Coastal hamlet Finale is a part of Pollina, settled around one of the watch-towers which in the past were allowing to alert the local population about the dangers coming from the sea. Around here one can visit the so called Gole di Tiberio (Tiberius’ Gorges) hollowed out by the waters of Pollina river, 70 m above sea level, a fascinating scenery and of great naturalistic interest.
