This farmhouse is set within the meadows of the comune of Fosciandora in the Garfagnana National Park. The land is beautiful meadows and the farmhouse is in reasonable condition. The views of the Alpi Apuane are breathtaking.
The house needs restoration including a bathroom and modern electrics. Some rooms will need complete renovation but others just need cleaning. The roof also needs some attention.
A narrow road already exists but will need widening to make the house accessible by car. The quote for this is Eu 30,000.
The property has a large kitchen on the ground floor with 2 bedrooms, one of which has a balcony. Upstairs there is another bedroom in what is a sort of tower. The house was originally very small, but has been extended at least twice over the years so that the second floor of the original building is higher than the extensions thus making the tower - if that makes sense.
In the basement level there are 2 rooms, one below the kitchen, the other running the full length of the house and is consequently quite large.
The location is Fosciandora, close to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. The house has commanding views over the Serchio valley and it is just a few hundred yards down the hill to Fosciandora railway station and the nearest bar/restaurant. You can travel here, by train, from Pisa Airport with no need of other transportation.
